How to ... : Watch Live Stream in Sopcast
1. Download sopcast software from http://www.sopcast.org/download.
2. Install sopcast player and open sopcast player from Start Menu --> Sopcas t---> Sopcast
3. Sopcast player will look like this. Then login as anonymous.
4. Paste the sopcast link on the address field of the sopcast player. Sopcast links will looks like this "sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/34250". After paste the link click the right arrow near the address field. Then the sopcast player window will open and start to buffer. then wait upto 5 minutes. Then the video will start to play. If you got "no peers to connect" or "cant retrieve data.." errors the try again and again till you connected. If video is blank / black try the next steps.
5. Most of the users complaining stream buffers 80%-100%. But video is black /blank or Audio not working. These kind of problems because of video codec issues. Here I give you some tips to overcome this problem. you can see a button on Sopcast player to open the video on windows media player. click that. Then the video play in Windows media player. Still blank/black screen problem try the next step.
6. Mostly windows media player have video codec issues. Lets try with an excellent media player. VLC media player, Download VLC media player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html . and install that. Then open VLC media player and try the following steps.
After Sopcast buffering 100%.
(a) In VLC Player
File --> Open Network Stream ...
(b) Select
HTTP/HTTPS/MMS from the open dialog box. and enter "http://127.0.0.1:8902/"
(c) Then clikc OK. The video will play without any problem.
Important. Dont close sopcast player during the video play. Actually VLC plays
the video from sopcast.
